Axis announced that the company is further
strengthening its patent portfolio through acquisition of “Internet Camera Portfolio” from Hoya Corporation and its affiliate. The acquisition consists of about twenty patents. The purchase price of the patents will not be disclosed.The acquired patent portfolio includes patents regarding network communication and cameras which deliver images over networks using e.g. different network protocols.
VIVOTEK has released a new Application note recently which helps you choose a computer system with the right processor to work wih the company's enterprise surveillance software VAST/ST7501! VIVOTEK's team have composed some charts that organize the processors according to the different compressions and the image quality (frames per second)!

The world-class Taiwanese IP products manufacturer VIVOTEK has recently released an Application Note on its site about how we can enhance the detail of the video stream through Wide Dynamic Range that is present with a certain number of IP cameras! WDR brightens dark areas but also keeps the image clear in bright regions. It is implemented by the software that is bundled with these cameras!

VIVOTEK was also cited for the FD8134, a compact high-resolution network camera prominently used during the rescue of the trapped Chilean miners.
